Do You Wrongly Think Buddhists Are Worshiping A Statue…?

of Buddha…. Actuallly Buddhists even do not need to worship Buddha statue as long as they obey and follow what Buddha taught and pointed out the paths how to survive in life.. How about other religions?

They are not worshipping the staute…they are just focusing on his image, he was a real man! unlike jesus he did not make miracles happen and he gave up wealth to find what he was looking for ..enlightnment! Buddihist look like they are worshipping a statue but really they are concentrating on that staute to meditate so that they can get full focus that’s all.
So, why do they worship these statues then?

Worshiping Buddha statute is not wrong at all.
Buddha statue represents peace of Buddha, nobleness of
Buddha and enlightenment of Buddha.
If a person believes teachings of Buddha, he can get
peacefulness by looking Buddha’s face.
Buddha is always living in deep concentration.
he does not have anger, greed, delusion,pride,hatred and so on.
In our Theravada Buddhism, by imagining the Buddha sitting in
deep concentration helps us to be peaceful.
Do you know there are forty different ways of practising mind in
our Theravada Buddhism.
One of them is thinking the nobleness and peacefulness of
Buddha again and again.
Buddhists are not worshiping a statue.
In front of Buddha’s statue, they recite 9 nobleness of Buddha.
Those 9 nobleness do not belong to others.
Those 9 nobleness only belong to Buddha.
So, actually, Buddhists are reciting the nobleness of Buddha in front of Buddha’s statue.

I have a small statue of Buddha in my house to remind me that Buddha reached enlightenment and so can I.
I’ve read about Buddism and it seems that many who say they’re buddist aren’t. The different buddas and others who made it there sole purpose were and are but all those trendy modern people who work play, have, sex aren’t.
I don’t think it’s wrong, just kind of silly. I think all religions are kind of silly.

What are u talking about. Of course they worship an idol. They bow to the statue of buddha and pray to it. What else would you call it?
There is a difference between using iconic imagery as a means of focusing the mind and devotion. Buddhists don’t worship deities but they do seek to follow the example of Buddha.
The Buddha never wanted a “religion”. His teachings were a man’s attempt to end suffering. He never wanted to be worshiped.
Many years after his death some of his followers started to deify him but he was just a man. Buddhism is a philosophy but some have turned it into a religion very much like Hinduism.
