Need Help Dating A Statue Of The Buddha?

I have an old wooden statue of the Buddha. I’m not sure how old it is or the country of origin. I would guess that it’s over a hundred years old. I have no interest in selling it, nor do I wish to know the value. I would just like to know the approximate age, and possibly where it came from. Contact me, if you think you can help, and I will e-mail some pictures. Any help greatly appreciated.

why would you want to date a statue?
find a woman.
a photo would help– certain styles of Buddha images are easy to figure out if the statue was made in the Thai tradition or another like Japanese or Tibetan. As for dating the statue, that’s going to be very difficult unless you ask someone who specializes in asian antiquities. There are new ones that look old (they beat them up to look old) and old ones that look new. I have a Buddha from the 10th century- I have documentation from the dealer I purchased it from- and he based it on similar statues in museums etc. You can look online at some of the Asian antique dealers & perhaps also get an idea of styles etc.
