It really doesn’t matter.
It’s nice if you treat it with some respect, being a reminder of the founder of one of the great world religions, but that’s all.
(And to those who will up and shout at me that Buddhism isn’t a religion I would say this. I’ve been a Buddhist for years. It is a spiritual discipline, and that’s near enough to a religion for me.)
The best way is face down onto the ground. Then take a sledge hammer and hammer it to pieces.
To the dude above…Buddha is not a god…why don’t you read something?
I don’t think it matters which direction. I placed my Buddha statue to face me (corner of the room so that it always faces me).
In Asian temples, statues of the Buddha and the bodhisattvas traditionally face southwards, toward the entry door(s) of the hall.
There are various geomantic and feng shui reasons for this — primarily to keep Buddha’s back to the north wind — but if you place your Buddha statue so that it faces south, you’ll be fine and the statue will be happy.
Why do you have think to face your god??? lol isnt it foolish that you ara placing your god hahah..
Man thing, if your god cant find the place of its own, imagine who could it solve your problems.
Dude, tell you frankly, you are in the wrong direction. I mean the religion which you are following, is taking you nowhere.
Your god needs a place to sit, cant he find or cant he make its own place where nobody can touch him.
