i was wondering as to where exactly does afro samurai take place and is afro a taoist or buddhist often times afro can be seen meditating and images of a buddha statue can be seen in the foreground. do anyone know?

I’ve noticed whenever I go to nail salons that are owned by foreigners, that they seem to always have a statue of buddha and they have it surrounded by food and usually what looks like a cup of coffee, what is this about?

My boyfriends mom gave me a buddha jade statue thingy for my birthday (Buddha is basically carved out of the jade) HUGE it’s like 4 and a 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide. I was wonder where I should place this thing. And yes I am Buddhist but I’m not to sure about the superstition things…
